Reproductive and sexual health session
Dr Kisu conducting a session on sexual health with the hard-working girls from Danfe.
Dr Kisu Rawal, CEO of Pasa Trade, who also happens to be an expert in the field of HIV prevention and has been working in this field for more than 10 years. While working for different organisations, she felt that young girls who are working or studying in Nepal need more informative sessions on sexual and reproductive health. Even the young adults of Kathmandu, who are supposed to be well educated amongst other locations in Nepal have little knowledge about this topic. Their school and the educational system says they have been educated but it seems that the opposite is prevalent.
A firm believer of “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together” Vincent Van Gogh. Kisu is very passionate about educating young girls about reproductive and sexual health as it is one of the stigmas and avoided topics in Nepali society. This avoidance has led to different STI’s and other diseases to spread easily. She has been working with schools, non-profit organisations, business in Kathmandu on a voluntary basis to give them the right information. This is a small step she has taken to improve the health of the young girls of Nepal. She has been passionately working towards helping Nepal and the people of Nepal even if they are small steps. Another step she has taken to help the people of Nepal is by creating a platform for local Nepali handicraft producers to be able to sell their products abroad.
